WECO TIMELINE
2000
WECO Beilun Elevator and Technical Co. Ltd. is established, with a registered capital of 500,000RMB. A 200m² plant is also rented.
2003
A substantial new plant is built with an area of 2,000m². In May, ISO 9001 certification is achieved.
2004
Initial HKD 500,000 of capital provided by Full Sense Investment Limited of Hong Kong.
2006
C.S.A. Certification is achieved. WECO France is established. WECO North America is also established.
2007
The factory area is increased to 4,000m². WECO Spain is established. WECO India is also established in this year.
2008
WECO R&D laboratory is established. A new Enterprise Resource Planning management system is introduced.
2010
WECO Germany is founded. Number of employees increases to 120. 250,000 door detectors are sold.
2012
WECO UK is founded. Construction on a new plant for WECO sensor manufacturing begins. 440,000 units of door detectors are sold.
2014
Factory name changes to ‘WECO Optoelectronic Co. Ltd.’. Factory moves to a new plant in July, with an increased area of 13,000m².
2016
Twin SMT production lines are introduced, with multiple assembly lines and ageing chambers. Annual capacity grows to 1,200,000 units of door detectors per year.
2017
A new business development unit established in Madrid. Central European logistics center established in Leipzig.
2018
WECO’s new Universal Profile door detector is released. WECO LATAM established in Panama in February.
2019
Northern European logistics centre opened in Rotterdam. WECO Turkey is formed.
2020
WECO move to a new production facility. Largest state-of-the-art door detector factory in the world. Capacity of 3,000,000 sets per year.
2021
WECO Italy is founded. WECO becomes official KONE provider.
2022
Southern European logistics center opened in Milan. EMA lithium backup battery series and EM44 lithium cabin upgrade kit launched.
2023
WECO Brazil founded, creating a new distribution point in South America.
